Perspective on something geometric, like a building, is much easier to do than perspective on something organic, like people. So, this was a challenge. I’m not 100% happy with it, but I’m sharing anyway. Enjoy.
I don’t know why, but I’m really proud of that contrail. That came out well, I think.
I like the idea to do it from this angle, and it certainly reinforces the negative feeling of being on edge – almost dizzying! You caught the boy well, and superman’s legs, but his torso looks like it’s leaning to his right, forcing him to look upward. I need to challenge myself more too!
Yup. Just not quite right. Close. But not quite there. But since it was just for IF, I’m not going to spend any more time on it. It’s neither a portfolio piece nor a paying job, so I’m calling it done.
I think it’s good to challenge yourself sometimes, even if the results don’t come out quite satisfactory.
I got to play with Photoshop’s vanishing point tool, which was interesting but kind of inadequate. I think there was an extended Photoshop that had more tools to work 3-D, but I didn’t get that. Or maybe that was Illustrator. I can’t remember. Oh well. I think it was worth doing for the experience, if nothing else.
Yes – definitely worth it! And IF is meant to be something to spark work and shake the brain a bit, right? I admire other artist’s work that is quite finished, but I would appreciate it more if they let the word inspire them to a quick sketch to see where it takes them in a brief burst.
Yeah, it seems like lately an fair number of the entries, though interesting and arty, have NOTHING to do with the prompt. Or nothing that is apparent to me anyway. I thought last week’s topic of “new” had a lot of work that only counted as “new” because it was an artist’s newest piece, not because it illustrated the concept of new in any way.
I agree.
I should have made the lines on that top ledge just a bit thinner too, I think.
