Inktober 2020 #3 – Bulky

This is a more traditional Inktober style for me. More pure black and pure white than the grays from the last two pieces. So, this boy’s lifting a bulky backpack. I didn’t get it quite as silly and exaggerated as I wanted to, but I’m calling it done.

A boy shoulders a huge, bulky backpack. It's gaping open and looks like everything's about to fall out.

Yeah, I can draw all sorts of stuff in a variety of styles. I did cheat a bit on this Inktober challenge, actually starting it on Sept. 1st to make sure I had time to get them all done. So far I’m at, I think, #26? They’re scheduled to post on the appropriate days in October.

I was pleased to find that most of them came out good. I’ve got maybe three so far that I think are kinda meh. (Like this one.) But I’m really proud of most of them. I’m glad I took on this challenge. Lots of new stuff for my agent to have for my portfolio. And lots of cool, new stuff to show off to the internet! I’m excited to share them. I’m tempted to just dump them all out there at once, but I won’t. One day at a time. 🙂

I do think the face and crammed full backpack came out well. I just kinda wanted the body pose to be more cartoony and exaggerated than it came out. Oh, well.
