Yup. Photoshop. I used two brushes. One I call my brush pen, because that’s the effect it mimics. It’s just a simple round brush w/ about 95% softness, 100% opacity, and a size linked to the stylus’s pressure. The other is what I call my watercolor brush. It’s a flat curve brush. Wet edge, airbrush, smoothing, 3% scattering, etc. I vary that one’s brush size throughout the page depending on what I need because it doesn’t let me link size to stylus pressure.
Photoshop’s brushes are pretty good now. They can mimic painterly strokes pretty convincingly. I don’t think your Photoshop 6 has sophisticated enough brushes, though. But once you upgrade, it’ll be great. 🙂
I smiled as soon as I saw the title!! Did you create this in Photoshop too? I love the painterly sky and simple strokes on the wingtips! Thanks you!

I’m glad to make you smile. You’re welcome. 🙂
