Inktober 2020 #18 – Storm

This lightning storm was fun to draw. The piece was all about the lighting. And the lightning. Lighting my lightning. 🙂

A boy standing in front of an open window at night watching a lightning storm.

Inktober 2020 #17 – Rocket

Well, I’ve drawn real rockets and sci-fi rockets. I considered drawing Rocket Raccoon. But I decided to draw a boy lighting a bottle rocket instead.

Lines only. Didn’t bother with shading today. Maybe I’ll come back to it.

A line drawing of a boy lighting a bottle rocket.

Inktober 2020 #3 – Bulky

This is a more traditional Inktober style for me. More pure black and pure white than the grays from the last two pieces. So, this boy’s lifting a bulky backpack. I didn’t get it quite as silly and exaggerated as I wanted to, but I’m calling it done.

A boy shoulders a huge, bulky backpack. It's gaping open and looks like everything's about to fall out.

People Wearing Masks

So, remember last week I meant to draw people wearing masks and I ended up drawing a ninja?  Well, this week I drew the people I meant to draw last week.  Here it is:  People Wearing Masks.

Here’s an image for page 7 of a safety-themed coloring book commissioned by Positive Promotions.  This shows a boy puling the curtains away from a space heater his mom’s turning on.

Here’s an image for page 5 of a safety-themed coloring book commissioned by Positive Promotions.  This shows a scene where a police officer and an EMT have responded to the scene of an accident.  The EMT is checking on a boy who is lying on the ground next to a crashed bike and the officer is interviewing an elderly witness.  An ambulance and police car are parked in the street and there are two apartment towers in the distance.  I imagine the boy lives in one of those towers.

In hindsight, I think I may have made the ambulance too narrow.  Hopefully it’s not too apparent.

Here’s 4 of 4 images for page three of a safety-themed coloring book commissioned by Positive Promotions.  This page is showing four situations where you should call 911.  This one shows a boy who has apparently drank poison.  A bottle of cleaner is spilled on the floor and he’s doubled-over as if his stomach hurts.

Here’s an image for page two of a safety-themed coloring book commissioned by Positive Promotions.  A girl explains to her little brother that they live at 731 Fisher Road.  The mailbox and house both have the numbers 731 on them and the street sign at the corner shows their street is called Fisher Road.  The illustration shows how addresses work.
