Political Cartoon: Bronies for Obama

Obama seeks support from underrepresented minority groups.

Political Cartoon: Taxes

Pictured: Uncle Sam as a beggar holding his hat out to a donkey and an elephant. Donkey: Oh, come on. He needs the money. Elephant: Why? He'll just go out and waste it on socialist public institutions and free birth control for co-eds.

Blown Covers – Easter Theme

I entered an idea in the Blown Covers design contest.  I didn’t win, but it did get listed on the blog.  It’s number 64.  I’m not sure if there’s any significance to the order.  Anyway, here’s the link:  http://blowncovers.com/post/19395707084/the-full-easter-basket#disqus_thread

You were supposed to come up with a sketch (not a finished piece) for a New Yorker cover with an Easter theme.

And here’s my entry:

I Need a Caption for This

This image needs a caption, but I haven’t thought of anything much.  Here’s what I’ve got:

“But, honey, he’s a Nigerian prince and he needed my help.”

“You never call, you never write, you never email, you never tweet, you never PM, IM, or text, and you never like anything I post on your Facebook page!”

“Your father and I have decided that you need to take a second job to support us.”

“I wanted to adopt a dog, but they said I was too old to become a parent.”

What do you think?  Can you think of anything better?  Suggestions are welcome!

Illustration Friday: Intention

Okay, this is an old one.  I’m reposting it for this week’s Illustration Friday theme.  I thought it worked really well for it.  The inspiration for this was the line from Toy Story where one of the toys (was it the piggy bank or Mr. Potato Head?) says “Humpty Dumpty was pushed.”

Jump In 2 – Final Version

Here’s the finished version.  The first sketch showed him in mid-air over the water, as if caught in mid-leap.  Once I drew it, I decided he kind of looked like he was already in the water.  I think it would work either way, but I already did a mid-leap image last time.  I thought drawing bubbles in this would be fun, so I put him underwater.  Same font as the other one: Komika Boo.
