Wordless Comic Strip

I can’t remember if I posted this yet.  Another Hart McLeod one for a third grade textbook.  This one was supposed to be an intentionally vague, wordless comic strip.  The student is supposed to write a story explaining what frightened the stick-man.

Vacuum Ate Cat

Here’s an illustration for Hart McLeod for a third grade textbook.  It goes along with a poem where the vacuum ate the cat.

Here’s an image illustrating some instructions on how to make a pop-up greeting card.  Created for Hart McLeod for a third grade textbook.

Mouse with Mushrooms

A few days ago I was in the mood to take requests.  Elaethyra asked for a mouse sitting on a mushroom using another mushroom as an umbrella.  Well, the rainy April weather’s been particularly inspiring for that sort of piece, so here you go.

I was playing with Kyle’s Real Watercolor brushes, which are rather impressive Photoshop brushes.

Revised Illustration

So, I asked for critiques on this and thank you so much for the suggestions.  I made some changes and here’s the revised illustration.

Don’t Make the Grizzly Angry

Cartoon-Girl-Animals-500

This was an experimental piece.  I was practicing several things.

– Cartoon females in this sort of bit-headed cute style.
– Expressive poses (body and face)
– Full background

I’m not really sure what’s going on in this scene except that it’s probably not a good idea for a cat to tick off a grizzly.

Since this was an experiment, I welcome critique and feedback on this piece.

Revised “Poets” for Hart McLeod

PoetsI was asked to revise this to make both characters non-white so as to increase the diversity of the illustrations in the textbook.  I left the girl as she was, since she was already brown-skinned.  The boy became black with dreadlocks.  (Because dreadlocks are fun to draw.)
