This is my entry for this week’s Blown Cover design competition. The contest asks for a sketched design idea for a New Yorker cover using that week’s theme. The theme was Trayvon Martin. Mine didn’t win, but I thought I’d share it anyway.

Karen, I like your image very much. It follows the basic gestalts of the New Yorker. I like the contrasts and the triangulated gaze. Thank you so much for posting this and entering the contest.
Thank you. I think I’m going to finish the piece and try sending it to a few of other magazines to see if anyone’s interested in it. If nothing else, it would be a good portfolio piece if I do it right.
