Here’s an image for page one of a safety-themed coloring book commissioned by Positive Promotions. A bunch of kids playing safely in their front yards. I tried to include a couple of kids playing street hockey because my youngest is a hockey girl, but they didn’t want to encourage kids playing in the street. 😦 Oh well. So long as the client’s happy. 🙂

Recycling Book – Page 7
Here’s an image that appears on page 7 of a coloring book about recycling commissioned by Positive Promotions for Earth Day. I don’t think I quite hit the character consistency as well as I could have on the girl on the left. Her cheeks really should have been a little rounder. Casualty of this being a rush job. But I really like how the overall scene with the tree and the swing and such turned out.

Here’s page 7 from My Treehouse, a short graded reader I recently illustrated for Learning A-Z. A cropped version of this image is also used on the title page.

Standing Up to the Bullies – Image 9
Here’s the ninth of thirteen images.
Standing Up to the Bullies by Ashley Kazery, commissioned by Learning A-Z, illustrated by me.
[Edit: I’ve updated the image. This is the final they’re using for the book.]
Treehouse – Final
Here’s the completed image. It was designed as a full spread. That means nothing important in the way of the center fold. Also, not much is happening on that right side because it would have a fade over most of that half with text overlaid.
Treehouse WIP 3
Here’s the scene with a few more leaves and the characters roughed in. I’ll adjust the placement a bit and work on the proportions a little. Need to figure out how to do the folds on the lower girl’s shirt. Then comes final lines and coloring.
