Here’s a mermaid I drew while procrastinating.

Siren song counts as music, right? I hope so, but really… I just felt like drawing a mermaid. 🙂
It seems like every time I draw water, I do it differently. This style seems pretty good for mid-ocean swells.
Some coral. With an eel. Because coral alone is boring. It needed an eel.
(Coral is really boring to draw. Like, REALLY boring.)
So, I thought I’d see if I can get through an entire Inktober series again this year. Last time I did it was in 2016, but I ignored the official prompts in favor of whatever Halloween ideas came to mind. This time I’m following the official prompts, which means today is: Fish.
I’m not entirely following the official rules because Inktober is really supposed to be ink drawings. But I only draw digital. So… no ink in the house. Instead I’m going to approximate ink drawings by limiting myself to black and white and trying to do mostly ink-style drawings at least. This one isn’t very ink-style, though.
Hey, it’s the best I can do. 🙂
Okay, those waves were really bugging me. So I tried again. Much better now, I think. 🙂
It’s on shutterstock now, if you’re interested. Click here
I was playing with image composition and lighting. Not entirely happy with the waves, but a fun image to draw. 🙂
Here’s the same image as a night scene with the aurora borealis.
I doodled some things yesterday that I liked. They’re just sketches, but I thought I’d share. The original idea was silly images to go with the phrases, “You need a T-shirt.” and “You need a mug.” I’m not sure that I quite hit the mark, but I still liked the results.
