The Tortoise and The Hare – Without Hidden Pictures

I’ve decided to do a hidden picture and send it off to High Five Magazine. This is the sketch. I’ve sketched in 7 hidden things. I want to have one or two more before I’m finished.

I updated this because it kind of bugged me that it was hard to read. All fixed now. 🙂

Okay, so does this work or not? I was thinking perhaps it could use some more vague figures looming behind the four in the thought bubble, but I’m not sure. I’m sending this one out for publication (I hope) and I want it as strong as possible. Do you see anything that needs work? Is the idea clear?
Yes, I’m still working on this one. The crowd scene is boring to draw, so I’m dragging my feet. But I thought I’d share this. This is the same character as an adult and as a child.

I was experimenting with drawing more with shapes and shading than lines. So, yes, I can draw this way, but I don’t like it. It turned out looking decent, but I miss my lines so much. I think I really need lines to make me happy with my work.

And here you have the lineart for about half the final image…
