Friday I took pictures of the “Hey, Kansas City” art show at Paper Birch Landing. I think I got the whole exhibit here, but please forgive me if I missed one or two. Cell phone camera shots, so sorry for the quality. The show runs until the end of the month. Go to my previous post for more information on that. the world, but this guy is a braying jackass.
Various bits of recent politics inspired me to draw this elephant yesterday.
Maybe I shouldn’t sketch while listening to political news.

I like him, though. Sort of feel sorry for him. Poor guy.
Here’s more of a finished color version. Okay, I’m done playing with this one. On to something else…
So, I updated this one. It’s about twice as long now and more fully reflects the intricacies of a true internet debate.

So, I haven’t posted much lately because I’ve been busy doing this.
A boring, but unfortunately necessary, part of the job. I’ll get back to drawing once I’m done with this chore.

Here’s a caricature portrait of Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. The background came from a NASA photo (public domain) of a spiral galaxy. I sort of gave him a cosmic halo because it amused me.

I received a packing tube from Zazzle today.
Yay! Stuff in the mail!
So, I originally created that monkey image for my daughter, who loves monkeys. I did already print it on just regular photo paper for her on my home printer, but she wanted an actual poster of it too.
Since I had it up for sale on Zazzle as a poster, I decided it was a chance to kill two birds with one stone. So, I ordered a Zazzle poster to make Katie happy, and I also get to use it as a proof print to make sure the image is printing nicely from Zazzle.
So, here it is on the closet door. I think the colors came out pretty much perfect. On the screen I’m on the fence on whether or not the image is too garishly fluorescent-bright. But as a printed poster, it looks excellent.
So, I’m happy.
