Cartoon of a braying jackass. Literally rolling on the floor laughing.
There are plenty of perfectly nice donkeys in
the world, but this guy is a braying jackass.

Various bits of recent politics inspired me to draw this elephant yesterday.
Maybe I shouldn’t sketch while listening to political news.

A worried elephant.
I like him, though. Sort of feel sorry for him. Poor guy.
Here’s more of a finished color version. Okay, I’m done playing with this one. On to something else…

So, I updated this one. It’s about twice as long now and more fully reflects the intricacies of a true internet debate.
(There’s a lot of text in this one. Please let me know if you spot any typos. Thanks.)

I drew an archaeopteryx today.

What a pretty birdie! 😉
So, I received my copy of the SCBWI Bulletin in the mail yesterday and I found out which of my images they picked to publish. Turns out it’s Boy Reading, an image I sent them in May of 2012. Yay! So, when they say they hang onto artwork to use later, they really aren’t kidding!

So, I haven’t posted much lately because I’ve been busy doing this.

A boring, but unfortunately necessary, part of the job. I’ll get back to drawing once I’m done with this chore.
If you’d like to hire me, I am accepting commissions. I’d love the excuse to take a break from self-promotion work. Or if you’d like to join my mailing list, I’d be happy to send you a free postcard. Just contact me with your name and address.
Here’s a caricature portrait of Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. The background came from a NASA photo (public domain) of a spiral galaxy. I sort of gave him a cosmic halo because it amused me.

Since it’s a celebrity portrait, I can only sell rights to it for editorial or limited personal use. Contact me directly for more information.
