Here’s an illustration I made for a workbook for Hart McLeod.

I am somewhat concerned by the blatant workplace safety violations depicted in this illustration. 😉
I created the following cartoons for Kellene Addison with 521 Promo. I understand they’re intended to be printed on T-shirts. They were created in Adobe Photoshop. I’m posting them as art samples only and all copyrights are owned by Kellene Addison.

While developing the dog character in the second cartoon, I drew out this guy as well. He ultimately wasn’t used. So, he’s still mine. He’s a little unfinished, but I like him.

I’m working on a project for a text book publisher right now. One of the images they had me do was supposed to be a set of specific words on a thesaurus page that were trying to get off the page. I just heard that they decided to cut this particular image for space reasons, so they don’t need the final. I thought I’d share the rough with you, since I don’t have much else to do with it at this point.

Had I finished it, the lines would be nice and neat and dark, and the cartoon words would be colored.
There are several other images they do still want me to finish and I will get paid for the work I did on this one.
Here is Doofus the BS fairy in the pose my father-in-law requested. Leaning back on a bar with one leg bent back to prop his boot on the rail. Holding a beer. I would have had him leaning straight back on the bar with both elbows propped up on the edge, but those wings get in the way. This is as close as I could get to that without crushing his wings.

Can we take a minute and admire the beer he’s holding?

I just really like that beer mug and the hand position. I think it turned out nice. The glass even looks shiny. Also, it’s the one thing in the image not smeared with filth. ![]()
Sea cairns–or I guess lake cairns–on the shore of Lake Michigan at Cave Point County Park in Door County, WI.

Five Flags Theatre Building in Dubuque, IA.

It’s just a really ornate, interesting-looking building, I thought.

Raindrops in a Stream
I took this a few weeks ago during a light rainstorm. Unfortunately, my shutter speed (1/25 sec) wasn’t nearly fast enough to capture the ripples without blurring. Even at this size, sized for the web, the blur is apparent. That’s pretty bad. The light was too low and I was having trouble getting the image bright enough. I had the iso set at 800, but in retrospect, I should have set it even higher so I could have gotten that shutter speed up. Oh well, too late now.
Flowers and Leaves
Black and Whites
Here’s another collection from my Wisconsin trip. Mostly rocks and water in black and white. Most of them are from the shore of Lake Superior in Duluth. Yes, I know that’s not in Wisconsin. But it’s on the way. The first three are from Sister Bay, which is in Wisconsin.
Some of these are available as prints.
