Color Version of Inktober #26

So, I finished the Inktober series, but I wanted to go back and finish off some of them in color. Here’s the first one I colored. Inktober #26 – Hide.

A cartoon of a boy hiding behind a door while a big purple tentacle searches for him.

Inktober 2020 #27 – Music

Siren song counts as music, right? I hope so, but really… I just felt like drawing a mermaid. 🙂

It seems like every time I draw water, I do it differently. This style seems pretty good for mid-ocean swells.

A mermaid floats in the ocean in the foreground. Under the water, you can see her fishtail. She is singing. In the distance is a sailing ship. It's nighttime and a full moon is in the sky. The image is a black and white ink drawing.

Kissing Story Sample – Version 2

So, here’s the new version of the Kissing Story page I posted before.  If you remember, there was some concern that the public display of affection was too much for the children’s market in the original version. So, here is a new version with the parental kissing off-panel.

One Empty Girl Cover

Here’s a cover I created for Alexandra Townsend for her upcoming middle grade novel.

(The title and byline here are just a mock-up and are a little sloppy.  The final text layout will differ.)

Mermaid – Corrected

Okay, those waves were really bugging me.  So I tried again.  Much better now, I think.  🙂

I was playing with image composition and lighting.  Not entirely happy with the waves, but a fun image to draw.  🙂

Neil deGrasse Tyson

Here’s a caricature portrait of Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson.  The background came from a NASA photo (public domain) of a spiral galaxy.  I sort of gave him a cosmic halo because it amused me.  smiley 15
