On my recent vacation we went to Door County, WI. There’s a big petting zoo called The Farm just north of Sturgeon Bay that we visited. The girls got to look at and pet the animals. I took pictures.

Raindrops in a Stream
I took this a few weeks ago during a light rainstorm. Unfortunately, my shutter speed (1/25 sec) wasn’t nearly fast enough to capture the ripples without blurring. Even at this size, sized for the web, the blur is apparent. That’s pretty bad. The light was too low and I was having trouble getting the image bright enough. I had the iso set at 800, but in retrospect, I should have set it even higher so I could have gotten that shutter speed up. Oh well, too late now.
Here’s a quick little sketch for Illustration Friday.

He’s worn a rut in the yard with all that pacing.
I realized I’ve never posted any realistic portraits of people to this blog. So, I created this just to show I can. It’s a portrait of my daughter Katie. It’s drawn in Photoshop using a photo I took a few weeks ago as reference. This is an actual digital drawing, not a Photoshop filter trick.
It also counts for this week’s Illustration Friday prompt of Children. Well, child, anyway.

Why are you not in bed?
