I particularly liked drawing this one because when I go hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park I go wearing all this sort of gear. She’s got her sunhat, which folds up to fit in her backpack. It’s a hiking backpack, which fits better than a regular backpack and has straps across the chest and waist. She’s got hiking poles, which effectively turns a person from a biped to a quadruped and helps with stability on treacherous footing. She’s got her water bottle on the side of her pack, although a camel pack might be better. And she has sturdy hiking boots, hopefully well worn-in. She looks all set to go. I don’t think this is her first time hiking.

An elderly East Asian woman walks past in full hiking gear. Her long gray hair is in a bun under her blue sun hat. She has a turquois hiking backpack with a water bottle in a side pocket. She is using a pair of hiking poles. She is wearing a long-sleeved white t-shirt, gray fleece vest, khaki pants, and brown hiking boots.
